As standard, our Skyway rooflights utilise a high-performance double-glazed glass unit.
Both panes of glass within the unit, will be Toughened & Heat Soak Tested safety glass.
The glass unit also utilise a high performance ‘Low E’ coating, ‘Warm Edge’ spacer bar technology and Argon gas filled cavity to ensure that the rooflight is incredibly thermally efficient.
Additional Options Include –
Laminated Internal Pane
– For additional safety & security – plus an added benefit that laminated glass blocks 99% of UV rays to reduce the possibility of colour fade on internal materials
Triple Glazing
– For optimum thermal performance – centre glass pane U Values available as low as 0.5
Neutral Solar Control Glass
– To avoid excessive heat gain through the glass, with minimal impact on light transmission
‘Satin’ Privacy Glass
– Diffused/translucent glass so that you can still enjoy the daylight without being overlooked through the glass
Switchable Privacy ‘Smart’ Glass
– Control the privacy level of your glazing, with the flick of a switch
Acoustic Glass
– For areas where external sound levels may be of concern
Decorative Glazing Borders
– To mask unsightly constructions below your rooflight that could be visible through the glass externally.
Heated Glass
– For condensation management in areas such as swimming pools
Class 2 Non-Fragile Glass
– Glazing that is rated to offer protection from falling through the glass – very commonly used on commercial/public building or roof areas that will be accessed for maintenance purposes
Class 1 Non-Fragile Glass
– Glazing that is safe to be walked on for short periods for occasional maintenance purposes and is also rated to offer protection from falling through the glass – very commonly used on commercial/public building or roof areas that will be accessed for maintenance purposes
Walk On Glass
– Glass that is designed for regular foot traffic – commonly used on roof terraces and rooflights installed over a basement
‘CU.I.N’ Glass
– Ultra Low U Value glass that can provide a centre pane glass U Value as low as 0.2
‘Protect+’ Security Glass
– Glass that has been tested for security & burglary resistance for Document Q compliance
